Alaskan Red Huckleberries

I have always been hungry for nature’s bounty. Whether I am hiking an alpine trail or skirting the rocky coast, I am always looking for something to eat. Many folks may not realize that foraging is one of humankind’s oldest pastimes (it may have something to do with all those grocery stores). In fact before the Great Flood, people were vegetarians (check out Genesis). I like identifying what berries, greens, shoots, seeds, nuts and underground vegetables are edible and which ones are not. This blog is about my edible adventures from the East Coast to Alaska. Enjoy navigating through my pages of berries, blooms and other intriguing finds~ Naomi
